A post on X stated that Lehigh University had dropped all charges against Oppong.

The post on X further mentioned that Evans Oppong had received help from several stakeholders to reach a point where all charges were dropped and he could return to Ghana.

“Special thanks to ANA, NEC, the Lehigh African Students Union and all the Old Boys of Prempeh College and Opoku Ware School alumni whose support and unity made this possible. It was no easy journey, but together, we stood strong - and now, all the boys have been released.”

Lehigh University dismissed Evans Oppong and three others for allegedly falsifying their senior high school transcripts.

The other three accused of the forgery were Ortis Opoku, Cyrilstan Nomobon Sowah-Nai, and Henry Dabuo.

The university found out the students had tampered with their academic transcripts after the elder brother of one of the arrested students applied to the school.

Jude Duabo's transcript was not the same as the transcript Lehigh received from his Senior High School after a request was made.

This prompted the institution to investigate his younger brother, Henry Duabo, who was already benefiting from financial aid from the school.

Similar discrepancies were discovered in Henry's transcript, prompting further investigations into the documents of the other arrested students.

They were all alleged to have tampered with their transcripts.
