He reportedly fell ill at his home in East Legon, Accra, and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he died.

The Ankwanoma hitmaker was married to his second wife, whom he affectionately referred to as Odo Broni.

Before he died, the singer had battled multiple health challenges that led him to undergo surgery to repair injuries to his spine.

The surgeries were successful, but later complications made life difficult, leaving him bedridden for significant parts of his final years.

His death sparked nationwide mourning as Ghanaians of all ages and backgrounds grieved the passing of a great highlife legend.
