Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known professionally as Daddy Lumba, died on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 60.
He fell ill and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Accra, where he succumbed to his ailment.
The news of Daddy Lumba’s death threw the country into mourning as almost everyone took to social media to express their condolences.

Daddy Lumba’s childhood village surfaces
In the wake of the musician’s death, the YouTube page GH Report visited his mother’s village in Nsuta-Ekuo.
The visit came as videos showing Daddy Lumba's mansions in Accra, London and other cities surfaced.
The village, located in the Ashanti Region, was reportedly where the singer’s mother, Comfort Gyamfi aka Ama Saah, raised her son.

Daddy Lumba’s family speaks about his funeral
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba’s family warned his widow that she would not be allowed to organise his funeral without them.
Speaking in an interview with GhPage, the family head of the Fosu family said Daddy Lumba’s wife, Priscilla Ofori Atta, has snubbed their attempts to contact her to plan his funeral.
He warned that she would not be allowed to bury the musician without their involvement because he hails from their family and by custom, they are supposed to be in charge of his funeral.
