At Muniru Mohammed Limuna’s funeral, Monday, August 12, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama delivered an emotional tribute to the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.

Muniru perished in the tragic Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) helicopter crash near Adansi Akrofuom on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, putting the nation into mourning.

Standing before mourners, President Mahama mentioned a poignant detail about Muniru’s final journey before the country's military helicopter crash.

“He was supposed to have gone by road. He was not a person who liked to travel by air. But the information got to him late. He was told there was a helicopter going and there was space for him.”

The president also recalled instances that informed his decision to appoint the late Alhaji Muniru as minister.

Speaker Bagbin speak about helicopter crash

YEN.com.gh reported that Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin urged Ghanaians to pay closer attention to spiritual prophecies, following the tragic helicopter crash that occurred near Obuasi on August 6, 2025.

The accident claimed eight lives, including senior government officials and members of the Ghana Armed Forces. Among the deceased was Deputy National Security Coordinator Limuna Muniru, whose sudden death has sent shockwaves across the country.

Leading a parliamentary delegation to mourn with Muniru’s family, Speaker Bagbin stressed the importance of not dismissing divine warnings, adding that such prophecies could help avert future tragedies.
