GMB judge says Adjorkor should limit Ga
Abena Boampongmaa argued that the essence of the show was to redefine beauty in a way that fosters national unity, which underscored the importance of having judges who can effectively communicate with contestants in their native languages.
She emphasised that it would be more equitable for judges to have the ability to speak at least three local languages to fully understand and appreciate the diverse backgrounds of the participants, thus allowing them to evaluate their performances fairly during the eviction shows leading up to the grand finale.
Moreover, Abena expressed concern for the 2025 GMB contestant Adjorkor, a talented graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), suggesting that being discouraged from using her native language could lead to feelings of demotivation, not just during the competition but also in her future endeavours.
