Award-winning Ghanaian actress and TV host Nana Ama McBrown has shared an update on her health condition amid her recovery from hand surgery.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, the veteran actress returned to her Onua Showtime show as a guest, with fellow actress and TV personality AJ Poundz remaining as the interim host.
Nana Ama McBrown expressed her gratitude to Ghanaians for the prayers and support she received before and after her hand surgery.
The veteran actress shared that she was feeling much better and was not battling any ailment. She noted that she had been given time off to recuperate after her surgery and had not been medically cleared to return and host Onua Showtime.
She said:
"I thank Ghanaians. Please thank God for me when you go on your knees and pray. I am doing well as I sit here. I am not ill. I have had hand surgery, so I have been given time off."
"You will be able to move a little about for a while when that time comes. However, you will need to wait for a while before returning to your normal routine. That is why I decided to come and visit you. I haven't returned to work. I am still on holiday."
Nana Ama McBrown noted that she decided to reappear on Onua Showtime to share the update and bring an end to the speculations about her health condition.
She recounted her experience from the severe car accident that damaged her hand, stating that her life has changed since the unfortunate incident.

Nana Ama McBrown's latest appearance on Onua Showtime comes weeks after she underwent a fifth surgery on her hand following her hiatus from TV.

The celebrated actress and her husband, Maxwell Mawu Mensah, got involved in a near-fatal accident on the George W. Bush Highway near Lapaz in January 2013.
Photos that emerged showed Nana Ama McBrown's Range Rover badly damaged, with her and Maxwell barely surviving the unfortunate incident. The actress suffered severe injuries, including a broken right hand, which was damaged.
Since the accident, she has undergone multiple surgeries on her hand, which has regularly affected her daily life.
A few weeks ago, she opened up about the excruciating pain and discomfort she had felt in her hand, which had been crooked after her accident.
Nana Ama McBrown noted that she has had to rely on some medications to cope with the pain from her injury.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that a preacher released a prophecy about Nana Ama McBrown, which he claimed to have received from God.
In a video, Prophet Gyataba claimed to have foreseen the actress being considered for a Queenmother role by some prominent individuals at the Manhyia Palace.
The prophet also advised Nana Ama McBrown on how she should respond to the alleged offer.
