Legendary Ghanaian musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, passed away on July 26, 2025.

He reportedly fell ill at his home at East Legon in Accra and was transported to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments for treatment.

Daddy Lumba succumbed to his ailment at the hospital, with his family releasing a statement to confirm the sad news after rumours of his death went viral.

Details of Daddy Lumba's family dynamics emerge

The late singer was survived by two wives and 11 children, his family confirmed in the wake of his demise.

In an interview on August 4, 2025, the head of the Fosu family said the singer had nine children with his two wives and two children from two other women.

Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, who is based in Germany, welcomed four children with him, while he had five children with his second wife, Priscilla Ofori-Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni.

"All his children are 11. We know 11 for now, with four women. He had four with his first wife and five children, including twins, with the woman he lives with currently. We also know of two women with one child each," he said.

All about Daddy Lumba’s former fiancée

After the singer’s death, details of his family dynamics have continued to unravel, leaving Ghanaians in awe at the life he lived.

On Tuesday, August 26, the Fosu family paid a courtesy call on former President John Agyekum Kufuor to invite him to his one-week commemoration event, scheduled for the University of Ghana stadium on Saturday, August 30.

Daddy Lumba's daughter, Denise Fosu grabbed attention during the visit, and was accompanied by a woman, later identified as her mother.

According to DL FM, run by the late singer’s close collaborators, Maame Ahimah was a former fiancée of the singer and Denise’s mother.

Further reports indicate the woman is a UK-based wealth management advisor and shared only one child with Daddy Lumba.

Daddy Lumba’s family visits Dr Bawumia

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba’s family visited former Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to officially invite him to his one week commemoration.

The visit occurred on Tuesday, August 26. The politician, who is a presidential aspirant, also made a kind gesture to the late musician's family by donateing GH₵ 100,000 towards the event.
