The business mogul visited the musician's residence at East Legon with his brother, Nana Kofi Bediako Amoafo-Hene, the CEO of Cantonment Pharmacy and Nkosuohene of Kwahu Mpraeso, to commiserate with the deceased's grieving family.

In a TikTok video seen by YEN.com.gh, Mr Ernest Bediako Sampong was overcome with sorrow as he mourned Daddy Lumba's demise during a meeting with his family.

The Ernest Chemist CEO, who is still recovering from a recent stroke, had to be consoled by a woman seated beside him, as he had difficulties dealing with the death of the highlife music icon.

Bawumia visits Lumba's family after his demise

Aside from Ernest Chemist CEO, Mr Ernest Bediako Sampong, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also visited Daddy Lumba's residence at East Legon to commiserate with his family on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

The 2024 NPP flagbearer was accompanied to the house by some top officials from his party.

He signed the book of condolence to honour the memory of the late musician. He also paid glowing tribute to him, describing him as a musical giant whose work had profoundly shaped Ghana’s cultural landscape.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also made a passionate appeal for the late Daddy Lumba to be accorded a state funeral in recognition of his unparalleled contribution to Ghanaian music and national identity.
