Maali, the babymama and partner of Shatta Wale, has broken her silence following his detention by officials of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

The SM boss is currently in the custody of the crime agency to assist in the investigation into the tax obligations of the yellow Lamborghini Urus he purchased in 2024.
Amid Shatta Wale's detention, Maali has taken to social media to throw her support behind her partner and baby daddy.
In her Instagram post on Thursday, August 21, 2025, she shared a photo of the SM biss and threw shade at his critics as she defended her partner against what she deemed as an attempt to tarnish his image.
She wrote:
"False rumours can't wash away true blessings, my man is proof that hard work and grace speak louder than sabotage. You can throw dirt on his name, but you can't bury a man God has lifted. His light will always break through your shade."

Why has EOCO detained Shatta Wale?
According to Shatta Wale's team's press release, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has detained the musician in connection with tax-related issues concerning the purchase of his yellow Lamborghini Urus.
Major media outlets have also reported that the SM boss is in EOCO's custody for interrogation on alleged money laundering, tax evasion, tax fraud, and possession of proceeds of crime.

The dancehall musician was granted a GH₵10 million bail, with two sureties, with his management and lawyer working around the clock to meet the conditions and secure his release.
On Thursday, August 21, EOCO released a press statement to confirm Shatta Wale's detention and share more information they had gathered after their interrogation of the musician.
According to their statement, the musician has yet to identify the individual from whom he purchased the Lamborghini Urus.
EOCO added that the SM boss claimed to have bought the luxurious car from the streets and did not have proper documentation to prove he was the actual owner.
