A Ghana Army Z-9 helicopter was involved in a fatal crash at Adansi Akrofum in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The unfortunate incident claimed the lives of three crew members and five passengers, including the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

The deceased were on a trip to the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi, Ashanti Region, before the unfortunate crash occurred in the morning.

Prophet Armstrong's doom prophecy surfaces

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on TikTok on Wednesday, August 13, Alex Armstrong warned about three impending funerals of high-ranking officials.

His prophecy was delivered during a June 17, 2025, sermon.

Armstrong, host of an Alpha-hour style midnight prayer programme dubbed Morning Dew, shared his prophecy with his congregation.

He said God showed him that three important personalities would die and Ghana would be thrown into national mourning.

Rise in doom prophecies after Obuasi crash

Ghana has seen a rise in doom prophecies in the aftermath of the Obuasi helicopter crash, which killed eight people.

Many prophets have shared videos from old sermons in which they hinted at impending doom for Ghana as evidence of their prophetic power.

Prophet Roja, the head preacher of the De Lighter Roja ministries, earned widespread acclaim after seemingly foreseeing the crash.

Roja warned Omane Boamah in a video shared on TikTok on Tuesday, August 5, a day before the crash.

Following the crash, he said in an interview that the prophecy could have been averted if the Defence Minister had contacted him.

In reaction to the rise in doom prophecies and complaints that the government was not listening to prophets, the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, released a statement urging all prophets to deliver their messages to his office.
