Five Dead, Others Injured in Accident at Asuboi on Kumasi–Accra Highway

An accident occurred on the Kumasi-Accra highway at Asuboi, near Suhum in the Eastern Region.

At least five people died in the accident, with many others sustaining various degrees of injuries.

According to Accra-based Citi FM, the accident happened on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The crash involved a Sprinter bus with registration number GW-5535-24.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the bus driver was speeding when one of its tyres suddenly burst. This made the driver lose control and led to the fatal accident.

Five passengers died on the spot, and the others sustained injuries. They added that emergency services were delayed.

The response teams arrived at the accident scene about 30 minutes after the incident and transported the injured to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.

The injured were later rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.

15 dead in accident on Kumasi-Accra road

In another publication, YEN.com.gh reported that fifteen members of the Saviour Church of Ghana are reported dead after a road crash on the Atwedie stretch of the Kumasi–Accra highway.

The tragic road crash involved the vehicle transporting the church members and a fuel tanker.

The church members were returning to Obogu in the Asante Akyem South Municipality after a special meeting.
