Some reports suggested over 300 shops were destroyed in the fire on August 26, 2025.

According to eyewitnesses, gas cylinders stored at the market exploded, contributing to the rapid spread of the fire.

However, the official cause of the fire is not yet known, according to Adom News.

Some nearby residents rushed to the scene and forcefully opened some shops to salvage items before the fire consumed them.
