A group of traders from the Ashanti Region, particularly from Kumasi, have publicly declared their unwavering support for President John Dramani Mahama should he decide to even run for a third term in 2028.

They also emphasised that they were impressed with his performance within the first five months of his second term and would rally behind him if he chose to stand as president again, which is unlikely to happen.
The traders thanked the President for appointing Dr Frank Amoakohene as the Ashanti Regional Minister, hailing him for ensuring the development of the country.
Speaking at the press conference, the traders claimed former President Akufo-Addo could not do what President Mahama had done in his first five months in office, despite spending eight years in office.
"He couldn't even complete the schools he started constructing," the women claimed during their public address to the President.

They also commended the First Lady of Ghana, Lordina Mahama, for supporting her husband and advising him on how to help the women of the country.
Kumasi traders appeal for roads, more markets
After praising the President and other formidable members of the government, the traders made some appeals to the government.
They urged the President and his wife to ensure that the second phase of the Kumasi Central Business Market is completed before the end of his tenure.
They also appealed for the roads leading to the markets and other areas to be constructed, to make the market accessible to both traders and customers.
