At 29, Juliana Agyei-Mensah settled in her new country to further her education, with the hope of graduating and pursuing a career in her field of study. However, this dream never materialised.

Narrating her ordeal on TikTok, Serwaa Broni, a popular Ghanaian woman based in Canada, indicated that Juliana was invited to Canada by a "brother" after studying in different European countries.

She often communicated with her mother, who was not in Canada, by phone. On the fateful day she passed, mother and daughter spoke at length, and Juliana told her mother that she was a bit under the weather.

"She complained of abdominal pains and told her mother she would call her back," Serwaa narrated.

Unfortunately, that was the last time anyone heard from her or saw her alive. Her mother was concerned when her daughter did not call back and was not answering her phone. As a result, she called Juliana's friend in Canada to ask about her whereabouts.

After responding negatively to her question, Juliana's mum pleaded with her daughter's Canadian-based friend to call the Police and file a complaint.

The police gained access to her room after the complaint was filed, and sadly, found her dead. Her family has since been devastated.

Ghanaian nurse shares tips on avoiding sudden deaths

Speaking exclusively to YEN.com.gh, a Ghanaian nurse, Abigail Agyaponmaa, shared tips on how to avoid sudden deaths.

"Sudden deaths often arise from cardiovascular diseases or underlying health conditions. This has been a worrying trend for years; however, the good news is that many of these tragedies are preventable with the right awareness, early detection, and lifestyle changes. Early detection is crucial.
"Conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol often show no symptoms until it’s too late. Routine screenings can save lives. A balanced diet low in processed foods, salt, and saturated fats, and rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, greatly reduces the risk of heart disease. Regular physical activity (at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week) also strengthens the heart and improves overall well-being," she said.

Netizens sympathise with Juliana's family

Juliana's demise broke the hearts of many netizens who saw the post about her passing. Many in the comments section sympathised with her family.
