Famous Ghanaian business mogul, Kwaku Oteng, in a show of solidarity on Thursday, July 31, 2025, visited the residence of Daddy Lumba following his demise.
However, during his visit, an incident occurred that triggered reactions online.

It all happened when a young Ghanaian man, who had the opportunity to shake hands with the founder of Angel Group of Companies, decided to ask for financial support.
In a show of humility, he went down on his knees and pleaded with Kweku Oteng, stating that he needed money to pay his rent.
Kwaku Oteng, however, kept his cool as he listened to the young man speak, after which he turned his back on the man and walked away without responding.
Kwaku Oteng has now joined the tall list of dignitaries who have thronged the residence of Daddy Lumba to show support to the family during their time of grief.
Malik Basintale mourns Daddy Lumba
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, on Thursday also took to Daddy Lumba's home to console the grieving family of the highlife legend.
Dressed in motorcycle gear, he arrived at the late musician's house on his expensive bike, flanked by his 5,000-man biking crew.

Speaking in an interview on the sidelines, Malik Basintale shared that he first met Daddy Lumba when he and other prominent NPP figures, including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, visited Tamale for a campaign rally in 2007.
Malik Basintale said he regularly spoke with Daddy Lumba until he lost his mobile phone in 2011.
Details of Daddy Lumba's demise
Daddy Lumba passed away at 60 at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra, after a brief illness on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
His family announced his death in an official press statement after speculation spread on social media.
In honouring his legacy, a candlelight vigil has been scheduled to take place on August 2, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra, starting at 6 p.m.
Dignitaries mourn with Lumba's family
Prominent individuals who have visited the late musician's residence include Former President Nana Akufo‑Addo, Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Chairman Wontumi, Kennedy Agyapong, Pat Thomas, Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede, Malik Basintale, Ofori Amponsah, and Kwabena Kwabena.
The others are Kwabena Kokofu, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Osei Kwame Despite, Becca, among others.

Yaw Adutwum's encounter with a Daddy Lumba fan
The young man again caused a stir after his encounter with the former Minister of Education, Yaw Adutwum.
The video showed him showering praises on the NPP stalwart, indicating that he was the man the country needed as its next leader. He then opened up about his intent to form a team aimed at supporting Adutwum’s bid to become the next leader.
All the while, Yaw Adutwum sat in the backseat of his car, beaming with a smile as the man sang his praises. He was later seen chasing after the vehicle as it left the premises of Daddy Lumba's residence.
When approached by a media personnel on how he learned to be such a good hype man, the young man smiled in appreciation and declined to comment.
Kenpong weeps at Daddy Lumba's residence
Famed business mogul Kenpong also left many people emotional after a video from the event went viral.

Kenpong, who had a good relationship with Daddy Lumba and had gone to his residence to commiserate with the grieving family, was overcome with emotion while leaving the premises.

Maame Dokono visits Lumba's residence to mourn
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that veteran actress Maame Dokono visited Daddy Lumba's residence to mourn with his family after his death.
She received a massive reception from media personnel as she arrived at the legend's premises.
Many who reacted to the video commended her for showing support to the family of Daddy Lumba.
