According to Adelheid, whose death was reported on Sunday, August 17, 2025, she had a health challenge which affected her academics while studying to become a lawyer.
"Because of the ups and downs and the stress, I had issues with my health. So I couldn't pass part one," Adelheid said in an interview with YFM Kumasi.
The former healthcare worker, who was passionate about administering care to patients, said her own health battle caused her not to pass her law exams.
She started her law education in 2019 at the University of Ghana, Legon, while working part-time as a midwife.
"I was very sad when the results came because I thought I gave my best, even through my sickness, but it didn't go as planned. My sister and I were at home when the results came, and we cried for like a week."
In the interview, the late Adelheid said she had a hard time watching her colleagues move on without her.
Despite the struggles, she went on to achieve her dream, inspiring numerous people when photos of her graduating emerged on social media.
Until her demise, she worked as a senior midwife officer at St. Michael’s Catholic Hospital in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
Her call to the Bar made her the first female lawyer in her family. She also became the first Ghana Health Service midwife to transition to legal practice.
Her vision was to bridge healthcare knowledge with legal expertise, with special interest in medical law, women’s rights, and access to justice.
