Special Prosecutor detains Paul Adom-Otchere
Opare's invitation to appear before the OSP comes days after renowned Ghanaian journalist, Paul Adom-Otchere, was detained by the Special Prosecutor on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
In a letter dated July 25, 2025, the OSP reportedly named Adom-Otchere, the former Board Chair of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, as a suspect in the probe.

Reacting to this, Adom-Otchere acknowledged receiving the summons and confirmed his scheduled meeting with investigators.
The former Board Chair of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) indicated his readiness to present himself, in the company of his lawyers, to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for questioning.
Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the renowned broadcast journalist described the invitation as a 'witch-hunt'.
"The OSP sent me a letter, requesting my presence and then quickly leaked it to the media. My lawyers and I will present ourselves to the OSP today (Thursday, July 31, 2025), at 3 PM for questioning," he said.
When he reported to the OSP's office at 3 PM on Thursday, he was detained and granted bail on the condition that he would provide landed properties registered in his name as surety.
However, Adom-Otchere was unable to meet his bail conditions, which have been described as too stringent, and is still in the OSP's custody.
OSP wins case against Ofori-Atta
YEN.com.gh reported earlier that an Accra court dismissed an application filed by former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, to strike out a warrant issued for his arrest by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The court ruled on Thursday, July 31, 2025, that the application lacked merit and dismissed it in its entirety. In March, the former politician filed a lawsuit against the OSP, seeking compensation for being declared wanted.
