Dr Omane Boamah and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

According to reports, the helicopter they were travelling in to attend an anti-galamsey event in Obuasi, crashed into the Sikaman Forest.

All eight people on board died, including five government officials and three crew members.

The deceased government officials who died alongside Omane Boamah have been identified as the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Deputy National Security Coordinator Limuna Muniru, Former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Samuel Sarpong, and former NDC Parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East, Samuel Aboagye.

The crew members who also lost their lives are Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

Prophet Roja reacts to Omane Boamah's death

A day before the tragedy, Ghanaian man of God Prophet Roja, also known as the Dangerous Prophet, delivered a dire warning to Edward Omane Boamah.

In a video shared to TikTok around 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, the prophet asked that anyone who knew the Minister should inform him to call him because there was a tragedy ahead.

A day after Prophet Roja shared the video of the prophecy, Omane Boamah died in a helicopter crash.

Following news of the tragedy, his prior prophecy went viral. Ghanaians subsequently flocked to his social media pages, searching for his reaction.
