Lamine Yamal's first goal in Barcelona's No.10 shirt

After a somewhat subdued performance in Barcelona’s opening tour game, a 3–1 victory over Vissel Kobe in Japan, all eyes were on Yamal to deliver in South Korea.

And it didn’t take long. Just 14 minutes into the game, the 18-year-old seized his opportunity. His first attempt at dribbling past his marker didn’t go as planned. The ball was intercepted, but he stayed alert.

Moments later, he tried again, this time attempting a clever backflip pass to a teammate. That move also failed to go as expected, yet fate was on his side.

The loose ball found its way back to him, and without hesitation, he drove it low and hard into the bottom corner, as noted by Goal.

Although Robert Lewandowski had already opened the scoring for the Spanish giants in the eighth minute, it was Yamal’s goal that drew the loudest cheers online.

Scoring his first goal in the No.10 shirt, once worn by the likes of Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, felt symbolic, even in a friendly.

Social media erupts with praise for Yamal

His strike quickly caught the attention of fans across the internet. Here’s what some had to say on X:

@BetSwirl preempted:

"Didn't take too long either; plenty more to come."

Yamal’s moment may have come in a preseason fixture, but for Barcelona fans, it felt like the beginning of something special.

His confidence, creativity, and calm finish hinted at what could be a breakout campaign.

If this is just a taste of what lies ahead, the football world should be paying close attention.

While Seoul pulled back through Young-Wook Cho and Yazan Abo Al Arab, Yamal was on hand to score another trademark goal to restore his side's lead at halftime.

The second half was a bloodbath as the gulf in class became apparent. Anders Christensen, Gavi, and a brace from Ferran Torres rendered Han-Min Jung's late strike a mere consolation as Barca sealed a 7-3 win against Seoul, per SB Nation.
