After a somewhat subdued performance in Barcelona’s opening tour game, a 3–1 victory over Vissel Kobe in Japan, all eyes were on Yamal to deliver in South Korea.
And it didn’t take long. Just 14 minutes into the game, the 18-year-old seized his opportunity. His first attempt at dribbling past his marker didn’t go as planned. The ball was intercepted, but he stayed alert.
Moments later, he tried again, this time attempting a clever backflip pass to a teammate. That move also failed to go as expected, yet fate was on his side.
The loose ball found its way back to him, and without hesitation, he drove it low and hard into the bottom corner, as noted by Goal.

Although Robert Lewandowski had already opened the scoring for the Spanish giants in the eighth minute, it was Yamal’s goal that drew the loudest cheers online.
