Little did anyone know that exactly a month later, the same man who had brought joy to the stadium with his vibrant presence would tragically lose his life in a military helicopter crash.

Ghana helicopter crash tragedy
The deadly crash, which occurred in the Ashanti region, has been confirmed by government officials. Alongside Omane Boamah, Environment, Science, and Technology Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, 50, also perished in the crash.
The military helicopter was carrying three crew members and five passengers when it disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from the capital, Accra.
The aircraft was en route to Obuasi for an event aimed at tackling illegal mining, but it never made it to its destination.
Images circulating on social media have shown the charred remains of the helicopter, though the authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash.
According to the BBC, the government has declared the event a "national tragedy," with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah offering condolences on behalf of the President, John Dramani Mahama. Flags across the country are flying at half-mast in honor of the lives lost.

Edward Omane Boamah's love for football
Omane Boamah, 53, was known for his political career and also for his deep love for Ghanaian football. A dedicated public servant, he was also a man who had a passion for football, a love that was evident in his last appearance at the stadium.
During this year's President's Cup between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, he was one of the top government officials who graced the game at the Accra sports stadium.
His enthusiastic participation in the event, smiling and enjoying the moment, made it clear that football was more than just a game for him.
The sight of the Defence Minister at the stadium that day is now a bittersweet memory, one that has left an indelible mark on those who witnessed it.

John Mahama reacts to helicopter disaster

This is according to a member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, who is also Minister for Education. The esteemed politician also extended his condolences, offering heartfelt wishes for peace during this difficult time.
